Nokia has launched its new Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the Lumia 720 and Lumia 520 in the Indian market. The company has announced that the Lumia 720 will be available in mid-April. However, the exact pricing has not been announced yet. Rs.20,000 (Approx.)
Launching the new devices, Vipul Malhotra, Director-Smart Devices, India Middle East Africa, Nokia said, “The WP8 momentum is building and Nokia is charging ahead with the Lumia series. The launch of Nokia Lumia 720 and Nokia Lumia 520 reflects our commitment to build a winning ecosystem that will enrich people’s mobile experience and help them connect with each other at newer price points. The two new smart devices will further invigorate brand Nokia with amongst the new generation of smartphone purchasers.”
The phones were unveiled by Nikki Barton,VP, Smart Devices, UX Design, Nokia and Masaba Gupta,a fashion designer, who emphasized the role of design in conceptualizing the phones.

The Lumia 720 is being positioned as a “trendy option.” The device sports a 4.3-inch display and is super sensitive like the Lumia 920. Nokia claims that the Lumia 720 offers good viewing angles and decent readability under the sun.
The Nokia Lumia 720 promises to deliver a high-end camera performance. It features a large f/1.9 aperture with Carl Zeiss optics that are designed to deliver bright, clear pictures day and night, while the HD-quality, wide-angle front-facing camera for making the photography and video calling experience more enjoyable.
The sleek and stylish smartphone comes with the latest high-end Nokia Lumia experiences, including Nokia Music, the HERE location suite, and the option to add wireless charging with a snap-on wireless charging cover. The device is also the first uni-body design with microSD support. The Nokia Lumia 720 will come in five colours.
The device comes with a 4-inch super sensitive touchscreen, which the company believes will make it competitive with other budget smartphones. It has a 5-megapixel auto-focus rear camera. Camera features include Smart Shoot, CinemaGraph and more.
