HP’s new Chromebook 13 offers some of the latest technologies that the company is also putting in its top-line Windows PCs.
The new laptop is just 12.9-millimeters thick and has a 13.3-inch display that shows images at a 3200 x 1800 pixel resolution. That is the highest-resolution screen ever in Chromebooks, an improvement from the 2560 x 1700 pixel display on Google’s Chromebook Pixel.
The base variant of the Chromebook 3 is priced at $499, which is approximately Rs 33,200, while the top of the tier Chromebook 13 G1 would come for $1,029 which is roughly Rs. 68,400.
It was recently learned that Apple has filed a patent that could help make their uber-thin Macbooks that much thinner–one that removes that need for physical keyboard keys.
The patent outlines what appears to be a full touchpad in place of where the keyboard otherwise sits. Filed under the name ‘Zero Travel’, it could indicate some sort of large touchpad, exhibiting properties similar to their Force Touch trackpads currently being used on their MacBook and MacBook Pro. Asus has announced the launch of Transformer Book TX300 convertible notebook in India.
Asus Transformer Book TX300 comes with a 13.3-inch full-HD multi-touch display that can be detached such that a device functions as a tablet. The TX300 is powered by a 1.7GHz third-generation Intel Core processor alongside 4GB RAM. It features a 500GB hard disk in the base unit (keyboard/ dock) and 128GB SSD storage that’s accessible in the tablet mode as well. The tablet is just 4mm thick at its thinnest, and the dock just 3mm at its slimmest point, prompting Asus to call the TX300 “world’s thinnest convertible Windows 8 notebook.” Read more
HP has unveiled Split x2 Windows 8 tablet/ laptop hybrid, similar to the HP Envy x2 introduced last year.
The Split x2 is an upgrade on the Envy x2 in many ways. Instead of the Atom processor, the x2 comes with an option of 3rd Generation Intel Core i3 or i5 processors.
